Episode 2: Krosmaster Arena

We’re back! That means we had fun last week and we’re excited to start bringing you what is now a weekly podcast! Join the Board Gamers Anonymous Crew with Anthony, Chris, Dan and Kim to discuss the big game that landed on their table this week – Krosmaster Arena. In addition, we’ll be playing through a few recent favorites including Gloom, Chronicle, Dixit, and Neuroshima Hex.

If you’re interested in learning more about any of these games or the other new ones that are on our radar as possible acquisitions, tune in to BGA episode 2.

At the Table

At the table this week, we got a bunch of awesome games out. The first of them is a classic tile drawing game that has been getting heavier play at Myriad of late – Neuroshima Hex. Next up we play Seiji Kanai’s newest (in America) – Chronicle, one with mixed results at the table.

Next up on the compact card game list is Gloom – the classic “kill your characters first” game, and finally we talk about Dixit and some recent tournament play at the store (and the results!)

Feature Review: Krosmaster Arena

This week’s feature review is a game that has been on our radar for some time – one that has been hitting it big at the store and after a monster Kickstarter campaign earlier this year. It’s called Krosmaster Arena and don’t let the chibi, cute miniatures fool you – this is a serious game.

While not nearly as complex or as in-depth as some one on one combat games, it manages to transcend the kid-oriented look and become something substantial, even if the expandable nature can lead to some heavy investment. Learn whether it’s worth picking up or waiting for the inevitable next Kickstarter campaign.
