It’s been a big week of gaming for the team here with a  bunch of very good games hitting our table, including yet another find from Pax East. This week, we’re going to focus our efforts in the feature review on Rivet Wars – a brilliant new miniature game from Cool Mini or Not – along with a handful of other plays such as Coal Baron, Gravwell, Buccaneer Bones, and What the Food? Listen to hear what we think of this week’s batch of new games.

    At the Table

We got a whopping four games to the table this week, including another one from Pax East that really resonated with Chris and Anthony during our first play through (and we did buy a copy). Drew brings out a copy of Coal Baron – an ingenious worker placement game with a cool elevator mechanic – and we get a chance to play Buccaneer Bones, Gravwell, and What the Food? The latter is a super clever and very cute little game that works on many levels and the designer was very kind to show us each of the game’s many facets while at Pax East.

    Feature Review: Rivet Wars

Finally we it down to discuss the big game this week – Rivet Wars. Recent released by Cool Mini or Not, Rivet Wars is a two player skirmish combat game, but without the heaviness of many other war-games. It’s lighter both in mechanics and visual appearance, and the quality of production is as high as ever from Cool Mini or Not. Listen to learn if we liked the game and what our thoughts are of the mechanics of this new one.
