Episode 70 – Gamer FAQs: New Essential Games for Your Collection

Ask any gamer which games are “must buys” for a new collection and they’ll give you the same laundry list of games that every other gamer or podcast puts out there. These are great games, but they’re also staples – games you can find in almost any collection and in any FLGS.

So for this week, we are bringing out our list of the NEW essential games for your collection – whether you lost your collection in a move or are just building your first one from scratch. These are the games you should be looking to pick up.

Shout it from the Tabletop

The guys look into the newest bracket craze in gaming – a 32 deck square off on AEG’s website to determine the factions that will be in Smash Up: It’s Your Fault. Listen to our picks and check to see which games made it against our votes.

Acquisition Disorder Corner

The guys look at a bunch of interesting new kickstarter campaigns they are considering backing in this week’s Acquisition Disorder Corner – including Warquest, B-Sieged: Sons of the Abyss, and Galaxy Command.

Feature: Gamer FAQs – New Essential Games for Your Collection

If you’re preparing to build a new gaming collection – whether for a local group, your personal collection, or a game store – we’re going to share 15 games we feel are the best representation of the “modern” must haves.

Some of these must haves include Diamonds, Gravel, Roll for the Galaxy, Caverna, Suburbia, and much more. These are not just our favorite games (though some of them very much make it onto our list of favorites): they are the games that we feel best represent the hobby in 2015 and that would make the best addition to your collection as you start to build it out.

Let us know in the comments below if you agree and which games you think should make it on this list.
