Episode 80 – Most Anticipated Games of GenCon

This week, the team gets together and welcomes back Daniel, along with Anthony and Chris to discuss games we are excited to see at GenCon. It’s our first year at the big gaming event and we’re more excited than ever to discuss what we’ll be playing, what we’ll be buying (or trying not to buy) and what the event will be like.

Solo Gaming with Anthony

Anthony discusses two of the hottest games in solo play on the market right now – Onirim Second Edition and Sylvion – both from Z Man Gams and both by Shadi Torbey. Learn which game is the best to start with and whether they both have a place in your collection if you are a solo gamer.

Acquisition Disorder Corner

Anthony is eager to try out a game that will be out at Gencon this year (hopefully) from Blue Orange Games and Chris talks about a game that is soon to get a reprint in a new format, Res Publica. Learn why they are eager to pick these up and whether you should be as well.

At the Table

While Anthony hasn’t gotten much to the table proper in recent days, he has been playing a LOT of Splendor for iOS, a brilliant little implementation of the game on a tablet (though somewhat expensive). On his end, Chris talks about Belfort – the big game from Tasty Minstrel that he finally got to the table at DexCon. What is worth the time taken to play? Find out if it gets a buy, play or dodge rating from Chris.

Feature: GenCon Games we Want!

GenCon is only a few days away and we are more eager than ever to try out a bunch of new games that are about to be released during the show. Join all three of us to discuss three games each that we are sure to try and track down during the convention and either get a play of or buy outright before we get home.
