Like all industries, tabletop gaming has its fair share of controversy. We touch on a lot of these every week while discussing recent news or specific topics from within the hobby, but this week we have a special episode in which we’ll delve even deeper. Join Chris and Daniel as they discuss the ramifications of some of the biggest controversies in tabletop gaming, from freedom vs. responsibility in creating a game to the actual act of playing a game and being part of a larger hobby.

    Shout it from the Tabletop

For the last three weeks we’ve been inviting you to vote and the results are finally for Tabletop Madness 2015. Listen to hear who takes home the prize as our listeners’ favorite game from the field of 68 – Dead of Winter or Race for the Galaxy. We’re also discussing the newly launched DiceTower.com (where you can find all of our episodes alongside the rest of the Dice Tower Network), and upcoming Maelstrom 2015 convention in Morristown, NJ.

    At the Table

This week Chris brings one of the hottest games of 2014 back to the table with its new expansion. He talks about the new options the Harbor expansion brings to Machi Koro, along with some of the potential downsides of this particular expansion. Learn whether it’s worth picking up to enhance the core Machi Koro experience, or if you should continue to wait for further expansion.

    Acquisition Disorder Corner

There are a lot of big games around the corner, but this week Chris takes a look at one that is positively charming – Burgle Bros. From the designer of Paperbak and Wok Star, Tim Fowers, Burgle Bros. is on Kickstarter right now and promises a unique 1-4 co-op experience.

BGA Court: Controversy in Tabletop Gaming

BGA Court is back and this week Chris and Daniel are looking at some of the biggest and most controversial topics in our hobby. In an industry growing this fast and with such a diverse player base, there are bound to be topics that ignite conversation more than others – this week we’ll take a close look at some of those and how they reflect on the current state of tabletop gaming.
