Episode 44 – Pandemic: Contagion

Extra Life 2014 has come and gone and the guys are still in one piece! This week we’ll be talking about the event, some of the games we got to the table during the event, and a handful of fun new gaming opportunities that have arisen in recent weeks. Listen and learn more about our recent gaming choices and dodges.

Shout it from the Tabletop

This last week, we gathered with a  large group of gamers in Saddlebrook, NJ and raised money for Children’s Hospitals as part of the Extra Life charity gaming event. We discuss the event, how we did, and the great experience of spending 12 hours with so many awesome gamers in New Jersey.

At the Table

We got a lot of games to the table during Extra Life this year. This week we’ll talk about three of those games, including Dread Curse from Smirk and Dagger Games 7 Wonders with the Leaders expansion and a full table, and Machi Koro, which has finally graced these US shores and landed on our table.

Feature Review: Pandemic – Contagion

Z-Man Games has provided us a copy of Pandemic – Contagion to review and we played multiple times throughout Extra Life (and on Daniel’s living room floor). This unique smash-up style game borrows heavily from the Pandemic universe theme but how does it stack up in terms of gameplay and replayability? Listen as we discuss whether this is a game you should seek out or avoid.

Final Round: Veteran’s Day

It’s Veteran’s Day, so we’re talking about games that help us celebrate our men and women in uniform during this week’s final round segment.
